Disney's Memorial Orgy - 16" x 13"

Drawn by Wallace “Wally” Wood, one of the original Mad Magazine illustrators, “The Disneyland Memorial Orgy” was a highlight of the satirical underground magazine "The Realist," founded in 1958. Realist founder and editor Paul Krassner (also a member of the Yippies) commissioned the work from Wood upon the death of Walt Disney in 1966, originally as a magazine centerfold. Krassner caused a stir when he issued the sensational image as a poster in 1967. Its ultimate distribution prompted Disney to file a lawsuit which was eventually settled out of court. The poster was then pulled from distribution and many were destroyed. In 2005, however, once the statute of limitations had run out, the incorrigible Krassner again reissued the poster in full color. Our piece is a reproduction of that poster.
