Marc Chagall, "Maternite rouge," 1980, giclee print 153/750, Certificate of Authenticity

This Chagall has it all: a mother-and-child scene, a lady in red, a naked baby, a canoodling couple, a pensive artist, a flying chicken (of all things!), and the Eiffel Tower. Wowee! Did someone say 'artsy?' It's all here, folks. Late-career Chagall had long-since settled into a mode of stylistic autopilot. rendering images as comfortable and familiar as a La-Z-Boy on the eve of reupholstery. They, like this one, are simply charming.
