    George Mulhauser was an American furniture designer who worked for Plycraft, a furniture company that was founded in 1953. Mulhauser designed the iconic “Mr. Chair” and “Mrs. Chair” for Plycraft in the 1960s. The “Mr. Chair” was a wingback lounge chair with a matching ottoman, while the “Mrs. Chair” was a smaller version of the “Mr. Chair” without the wings. The chairs were made of bentwood and had a walnut finish. The seat and back cushions were upholstered in leather or vinyl.
