Pace Spring Spiral Chrome Side Tables

This pair of polished chrome and glass tables are called the "Spring Table" and were designed by Leon Rosen for the Pace Collection, a high-end furniture and design company that lived from 1961-2001 in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. While the laminates and fiberglass at Knoll and Herman-Miller could maintain a façade of American egalitarianism, Pace embraced the more elite look of high gloss and exotic wood veneers. Where its contemporaries were decorous, Pace was libertine. This Pace was fast.

Pace could also be cheeky, and these twin corkscrews are winking metonymy for the cocktail parties they were designed to decorate. So light up. live it up, and get lit. No shame in this spiral.
